The Morning News with Webster and Nancy

M-F 6am-9am

John Webster-Born and raised in “nort deest Pee Yay.” Age? Let’s just say I remember when Captain Kangaroo was the clown on the Howdy Doody show. Approximately zero percent athletic ability but I didn’t let that stop me from being the ‘star’ 2nd baseman for Gildea’s Pharmacy. To compound my dorkiness and make matters even worse I took accordion lessons as a kid.In high school I tried out for football but that was way too much like work. Opted instead to wear the cougar suit at football games. (Opposing team cheerleaders think it’s cute when ‘the cougar’ paws them.)Squeezed 4 years into 5 ½ at East Stroudsburg University, “The Cheapest Resort in the Poconos” graduating with a BS (heh) degree in education. Yes, I was supposed to be a teacher and if I had followed that path I’D BE RETIRED NOW! (I blame my guidance counselors for not seeing the lazy streak a mile wide in me.)Been in radio since 1980 beginning with a part-time news job on Saturday mornings at WCDL in Carbondale. WILK is the 4th station I’ve worked at. The first was a Sunoco.Married my lovely wife Karen in 1983, we have two great (grown) kids, John and Emily. I play the Powerball like it’s my job.

Nancy Kman started out working in radio as a news reporter and then anchor for WILK. She covered many sensational trials including the Glen Wolsieffer, Jose Sanchez, and Frank Ossellanie murder trials. Nancy dabbled in television news as a reporter for WYOU TV in the early 90’s, covering the Blizzard of ’93 that crippled the region. Nancy worked as part of the morning show on sister station Froggy 101 before returning to her newstalk roots at WILK in 2000. On September 11, 2001, Nancy was at the helm at WILK when 9/11 broke. In 2007, she was diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation, followed by numerous reconstructive surgeries. Nancy, a Democrat, is a wife and mother of two who believes that people come before corporations. She lives in Susquehanna County where she enjoys gardening, reading, travelling, and becoming one with the universe
