Police arrested Clyde Joye Randle, 43, of Carey Ave, Wilkes-Barre. PA after police executed a search warrant on Randle's hotel room and located a large amount of controlled substances. Police seized approximately 118.7 grams of cocaine (approximate street value of $11,000) that was weighed with packaging and 3.3 grams of marijuana in a small Ziploc baggie. Randle was not present when the search warrant was executed. As police continued surveillance of the area, Randle returned to the hotel. When Randle saw officer's approach his vehicle, he put his vehicle in reverse and accelerated rapidly towards officers. Randle then put the vehicle into drive and accelerated rapidly in a forward motion, striking a Wilkes-Barre Twp. police vehicle with enough force to lift the passenger's side of the Randle's vehicle off of the pavement. Randle continued his attempt to exit the parking lot but was boxed in by other responding officers and crashed into a snow bank. Randle abandoned his vehicle and attempted to flee up the embankment towards Interstate 81 exit ramp where after a brief foot pursuit he was taken into custody. Randle was arraigned and lodged at Luzerne County Correctional Facility where bail was denied.

Arrest was made by Wilkes-Barre Township Special Investigations Unit (S.I.U.)
