The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board has approved Mohegan Sun Pocono’s petition to offer sports betting at a hearing in Harrisburg.

The Plains Township casino filed a petition with the board in March seeking approval to offer all types of sports betting permitted by state law.

The casino entered into an agreement with a subsidiary of the New York-based Kindred Group that will serve as its sports wagering and interactive gaming partner.

Mount Airy Casino Resort in Monroe County has also filed a petition to offer sports betting, but a hearing on its proposal has not yet been scheduled.

Both casinos are paying a $10 million licensing fee to the state.
