Proposed 2018 Wilkes Barre Budget Released

Wilkes-Barre Mayor Tony George has released his proposed 2018 budget that doesn't increase taxes but does change garbage collection and increases parking meter fees.The proposed $49.2 million dollar spending plan is balanced and changes the city’s garbage collection. Residents currently buy city garbage bags at $2 each. The mayor wants a sticker system where residents buy city stickers at $2.50 each and put them on their own garbage bags.
