Police have charged 41 year old Anthony Shaw of East Orange, New Jersey with the stabbing death of Cindy Lou Ashton. The 39 year old Wilkes-Barre Township woman was found dead in the bathroom of her Nicholson Street apartment on May 2nd. She died of multiple stab wounds. According to an affidavit of probably cause, it's alleged the two were in a relationship and that Shaw was at her apartment on the night of May 1st, and seen in surveillance video moving her parked vehicle on the morning of May 2nd. Investigators say Shaw attempted suicide in his New Jersey apartment on May 3. It's alleged he left a note to Ashton's family asking forgiveness.  Detectives say they found a folding Gerber knife and bloodied items in a bag at his home.  The coroner says that knife is compatible with the injuries Ashton sustained.  Shaw is in custody in New Jersey awaiting extradition to Pennsylvania.
