PA Game Commission says NO to semi automatic weapons for large game

Decision made after a survey of state hunters

Semi automatic rifles will not be allowed for hunting deer, bear, turkey and elk in Pennsylvania. They will however be allowed for other furbearers.  In January the Pennsylvania Game Commission board voted to approve semi automatic weapons for all hunting but then reversed that after looking at a hunter survey. Results from the survey of hunters showed 64 percent were opposed to allowing semi automatic for big game hunting. The board says they will continue to take comments and don't expected the discussion to end any time soon.
