Wilkes-Barre seeks to improve relations between community and police

Mayor announces advisory board and seeks money for body cameras

Wilkes-Barre Mayor George Brown announced the formation of a seven member  citizens advisory board during a city council meeting yesterday. The mayor says the board will work with police in improving community relations. It received the approval of both the police administration and union. The city will be accepting applications and appointments will not need council consent. The Mayor also announced they city will begin looking for funding to purchase body cameras for officers.
