SCRANTON, PA –Mayor Cognetti signed a proclamation extending the State of Emergency for the City of Scranton through June 21, 2020.    The proclamation enables city government to adjust operations to protect public health. This proclamation should not be confused with Governor Wolf’s Phased Reopening for Lackawanna County, which allowed for businesses to reopen last week.    Lackawanna County remains under the “yellow” phase and continued precautions for public health remain in place. The City will continue to follow the orders and guidelines from the Governor and PA Department of Health through the coming phases of COVID-19 virus mitigation.     Residents should continue to use remote methods of accessing City services.
