Scranton Remembers George Floyd with lights tonight

Scranton City Hall, Memorial Stadium and local colleges and universities will participate

Lights will be on across the City of Scranton this evening in remembrance of George Floyd. On the United States Conference of Mayors' All-Mayors Update call last week, Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner, asked mayors to light their city halls in crimson and gold.  The Mayor’s office windows at Scranton City Hall,  the Scranton Cultural Center, and the Scranton School District will light up Memorial Stadium at 8 p.m.. Other offices and local schools will also participate, including the University of Scranton, Lackawanna College, Johnson College, Marywood University and Penn State Scranton. Floyd will be laid to rest in Houston tomorrow.
