Scranton Man Guilty of Theft and Stolen Valor

After one day of testimony, a Lackawanna County Judge has found a West Scranton man guilty of theft and stolen valor.

Christopher Crawford was accused of stealing more than 16-thousand dollars from American Legion Post 568 in Minooka and misrepresenting his status as a veteran.

Veterans Officials say Crawford was not entitled to represent himself as a veteran because he received an other-than-honorable discharge from the U.S. Army in 2007 after he went absent without leave.

Investigators say Crawford used post debit cards to make unauthorized purchases and cash withdrawals between March and August of last year.
