Confirmed COVID-19 in Scranton

Scranton: Late last week, a Scranton city employee got sick and left work.  Today, the city announced that the employee has, in fact, been diagnosed with COVID-19.

The employee, who’s name wasn’t released, remains out of work pending their recovery and the full length of the appropriate quarantine period. Two other city employees who worked directly with the sick employee have also been quarantined. Those two employees have not shown any COVID-19 symptoms.

The City released a statement saying: “Mayor Cognetti and all City officials and employees wish our colleague a full and speedy recovery, and for no further COVID-19 episodes within our workforce – or anywhere.”
