Saturday 3/28 update on Covide-19 numbers in NEPA counties

The Pa. Department of Health confirms there are 533 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 2751 in 56 counties. The department also reported 12 new deaths among positive cases, bringing the statewide total to 34. Monroe County has 106 positive cases, Luzerne County has 65, there are 51 cases in Lackawanna County, Wayne County has 6, Columbia County has 4 and Susquehanna County remains at 1 case. Statewide, 39% of positive cases are ages 25-49, 28% are 50 to 64, 19% are 65+. Secretary of Health Dr. Rachel Levine says, "Pennsylvanians have a very important job right now: stay calm, stay home and stay safe. We have seen case counts continue to increase and the best way to prevent the spread of COVID-19 is to stay home. All non-life-sustaining businesses are ordered to be closed and schools are closed statewide at least through April 6. Currently 19 counties are under stay-at-home orders, including Monroe, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Wayne and Pike Counties
