Luzerne County DA Rules Shooting of Suspect Justified
Categories:

The Luzerne County District Attorney has ruled the shooting death of a Nanticoke man earlier this month by state police as justified.

Stephanie Salavantis announced the ruling in a statement.

The DA says 20-year old Jordan Oliver continuously indicated he had a firearm, positioned his concealed hand against her neck, and threatened to shoot the victim 15-year-old Samara Derwin.

Salavatis says the victim also believed Oliver had a firearm and the victim appeared to be in immediate danger of death.

Oliver was shot by members of the State Police Special Emergency Response Team (SERT) on December 1st. Derwin escaped unharmed.
