Pennsylvania held a primary election amid civil unrest, a pandemic, the introduction of new voting machines in 22 counties and the debut of mail-in balloting.

The Republican race in the 8th Congressional District has not yet been determined but it appears to have come down to two. Teddy Daniels and Jim Bognet at last vote count have been the top vote getters with election officials still counting the mail in votes in the 5 county district. Earl Granville is in third.  The winner will face incumbent Democrat Matt Cartwright who was unopposed in yesterdays primary.

In the Democrat race in the 9th Congressional District no top vote getter between Laura Quick and Gary Wegman was yet decided. That person will face incumbent Republican Dan Meuser in the fall.

President Donald Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden, both won their primary Tuesday in Pennsylvania.

Election officials say with the number of mail in ballots to be counted final numbers could take until the end of the week.
