Never Forget

Many ceremonies to honor the 17th anniversary of the attacks on September 11, 2001 will be held across our area today.

That includes:

McDade Park in Scranton. The "Remembering our Fallen memorial" has been at the park since last week. It will wrap up its visit today. The memorial has thousands of pictures of those men and woman who have lost their lives in the war against terror since the attacks. A wreath laying ceremony is set for 8am.

A remembrance event also begins at 8:30 this morning at Grace Episcopal Church 30 Butler St Kingston.

A remembrance ceremony and brick dedication will be held at Luzerne County Community College Public Safety training Institute at 11am.

A wind chime tower is in place at the national memorial to the crew and passengers killed when terrorists crashed a hijacked plane into a Pennsylvania field on Sept. 11, 2001. The Tower of Voices monument dedicated Sunday is the final major construction project of the Flight 93 National Memorial. President Donald Trump is expected to visit the site today as is Governor Tom Wolf,  the anniversary of the attacks that killed nearly 3,000 people.
