National Weather Service Confirms Tornados in Lackawanna and Susquehanna Counties

A survey team from the National Weather Service has confirmed a tornado hit Lackawanna County, causing damage Sunday night and early Monday morning.
Meteorologists spent this morning documenting the damage in Dunmore, Scranton’s Hill section, and the city's south side.

Investigators believe it was an EF-0 tornado with winds up to 85 mph that hit parts of Scranton and Dunmore.


In Susquehanna County the weather service has determined an EF-1 tornado with 90-mile per hour winds touched down in Hardford Townhip early Monday morning. 

The storm took down a barn and parts of a silo and then brought down  trees and power lines in Susquehanna County.
