Five New Hazleton Firefighters Sworn In
January 11, 2019 - 8:36 am
Categories:
In Hazleton last evening 5 new firefighters were sworn in at a ceremony at Good News Church on North Laurel Street bringing the total full time number in the city at 23. This is the largest single addition to the department in the recent past and was made possible in part ot a grant from the US Department of Homeland Security Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response program. It means the department will be manned 24/7 and have faster response times. Some are taking spots which are opening due to retirements.
