Fireworks Throughout the Week

Monday July 2:

Starting off the fireworks fun is at the Wayne County Creative Arts Coucil Independence Day Celebration at Central Park, Church Street in Honesdale. Live music starts it off at 6:30pm and the fireworks display is around 8:00pm. There will also be food vendors along with crafts and fun activities for the kids.


Tuesday July 3:

Heading into downtown Scranton? Near the County Courthouse Square will be the Scrantastic Spectacular! This event is open to the public at 4:00pm with food vendors and fun activities, live music starting at 7:00pm with the Northern Appalachian Wind Symphony, and at dusk, the night ends with fireworks choreographed to music. The Scrantastic Spectacular brought to you in part by Entercom Communications. 


Hazleton Independence Day Celebration is happening at City View Park, South Popular Street in the Big Black Mountain. Gates open at 4:00pm and fireworks starting at around 9:30pm. Music and entertainment will be available along with special bus services.


Also, at the Rotary Club of the Abingtons, their annual fireworks display happens at Abington Heights Middle School, 1555 Newton Ransom Blvd., Newton Twp. Food and amusement vendors start at 5:00pm, and fireworks start at dusk. Parking is $5 in designated lots.


To add to all the options for the day would be the Tunkhannock Rotary Club's Fireworks Display at Tunkhannock High School's athletic field, 123 Tiger Drive. Gates will open at 6:00pm, with the band Popstar Drive playing at 7:00pm until dark when the fireworks begin!


Lastly to wrap up the night, Mount Airy Casino Resort, in Mount Pocono, is having a free to public fire works display starting at 9:30pm.


Wednesday July 4th:

Wednesday is jammed packed with all the fun starting off with the Mountain Top on the Move Parade from 10:00am to 1:00pm. The parade will be ending with a ceremony at Wright Twp. Municipal Park, Park Road, with plently of local orginizations providing refreshments along with other displays.


If you're not at the parade, you could be at a free patriotic concert withe the Ringgold Pops at 10:30am. at Nay Aug Park, 500 Arthur Ave, Scranton.


Take the whole day and have fun with games, rides, and of course food at the Old-Fashion Fourth of July from noon to 10:00pm at Kirby Park, 301 Northampton St., Kingston. Music at 7:30 from Eddie Day and the Star Fires.  And we can't forget the fireworks starting at dusk.


Can't make it to all the firework shows you want? Don't worry. Throughout July and August, the Scranton/ Wilkes-Barre RailRiders post-game fireworks will display at the PNC Field, 235 Montage Mountain Rd, Moosic. But on July 4th, the RailRiders will play against the Buffalo Bisons at 7:05pm with fireworks starting directly after the game. Tickets range from $10-$14.


Kalahari Water Park and Resort, 250 Kalahari Blvd., Pocono Manor, joins in with the 4th of July fun with their "Dreams: Symphony in the Sky" Fireworks Display. The fireworks will begin at dusk and can be viewed from the waterpark with day passes $109, with passes after 5:00pm, $89.


Finally, head over the shores of Lake Wallenpaupack at Wallenpaupack High School, 2552 Route 6, Palmyra Twp. At 9:15pm the Lake Wallenpaupack's Fireworks will start and guest seating and parking is available at the high school. Admission is free, but accepts donations. Rain date will be Thursday, July 5th.


Saturday July 7th:

Gates openning at 6:00pm for the Minisink Lions of North Pocono Fireworks Extravaganza at North Pocono's football stadiu,, Route 690, Moscow. Plently of food, refreshments, and entertainment for all ages with live music from the Pets starting at 7:00pm and the fireworks starting at dusk. Admission is free, but donations are accepted. Rain date is Sunday, July 8th.

The Stay at Home Festival & Fireworks are at Jim Thorpe Memorial Park, 101 E. 10th St. Live music from local bands along with amusement rides, free kid games, face painting, and more all from noon to 11:00pm!

To end it all, we have more fireworks displaying over the waters of Lake Harmony starting at 9:00pm at the Independence Day Fireworks at Split Rock Resort, 428 Moseywood Road, Lake Harmony. Rain date is July 8th.
