UPDATE: TRAFFIC ADVISORY  Vice President Pence visit

In advance of the arrival of Vice President Pence, the Pennsyvlania State Police have asked all motorists to avoid the areas around Advance Optics Schott North, 400 York Ave, Duryea between 3:30pm and 5:00pm.  Roads will be closed, and all traffic will be stopped in all directions while the Vice President's motorcade is underway.  If possible, the state police ask you to avoid the area entirely.


Details on Vice President Mike Pence's visit to the area next week have been released. A spokesperson for Schott Glass, says Pence is scheduled be at the facility in Duryea at 3:45 Monday afternoon.

The vice president is expected to celebrate the glass manufacturer’s 50th anniversary and speak about the passage of the US-Mexico-Canada trade agreement.

The event in Luzerne County is for Schott employees and invited guests only and is not open to the public.

Former Vice President Joe Biden plans to visit the region on Tuesday to promote his Democratic candidacy for president. Biden’s campaign has not yet released details of that visit.
