Commonwealth Health Ending Flights, Concentrating on Ground Transport

March 05, 2019 - 4:57 am

Commonwealth Health Emergency services announced yesterday they will no longer supply air transportation services. Instead they will focus on using ground transportation but a spokesperson did point out critical care transportation will still be available through CHEMS ground transport.  The helicopter operated by Commonwealth Health Emergency Medical Services has been flying since 2014. 9 helicopters make up the fleet operated by Geisinger Life Flight. Commonwealth did not expand on the reason for the decision.
