Shooting at homeless camp leaves 1 man dead, another wounded

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A shooting at a homeless encampment in Philadelphia has left one man dead and another hospitalized.

The shooting occurred shortly after 1 a.m. Tuesday underneath a train trestle. Authorities say a man who was shot in the head was pronounced dead at the scene, while a 23-year-old man who was shot in both legs was hospitalized in stable condition.

Witnesses say the shooter fled the scene on a bicycle but was taken into custody a short time later. I('s not clear what charges he may be facing.

No other injuries were reported in the shooting.

A motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
